Extension of short-stay visa

A visa is a document that enables the holder to report to any border checkpoint of the Republic of Moldova and to require either transit through or a short stay on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Please note that holding an entry visa does not guarantee entry on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The border police officers will demand proof that the general conditions of entry and stay on the territory of the Republic of Moldova are met as provided by law. Should those conditions not be met, aliens will not be allowed to enter the territory of the Republic of Moldova, although they might have previously obtained a Moldovan visa.

  • The short-stay visa (type C) allows entry on the territory of the Republic of Moldova for a certain period of time, for an uninterrupted stay or several stays, whose duration should not exceed 90 days within any period of 180 days preceding each day of stay in the Republic of Moldova, for the following purposes: official mission, tourism, business, private visit, transportation, participation in sports activities, as well as cultural, scientific or academic events.

  •  The short-stay visa (type C) private visit;  business; transportation;  participation in sports activities;  cultural, scientific or academic events for which a stay period of less than 90 days has been granted can be extended with new terms, so that the total duration of the granted stay does not exceed 90 days in any 180 day period, which implies taking taking into account the last period of 180 days prior to each day of stay.
