It lasts from 1 to 6 months. It may be extended for a further 3 months after informing
the applicant in writing of the extended deadline.
It takes 15 days. Applications subject to the fast-track procedure are applications that
are abusive, manifestly unfounded, or made by a person who would pose a threat
to national security and public order.
It concernsunaccompanied minors, persons with mental disorders, victims of torture or
violence.
Applications from these categories are not subject to the accelerated procedure and are examined under the ordinary procedure.
It is granted by Government Decision, on the proposal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the basis of a report submitted by the General Inspectorate for Migration on the need for temporary protection. By Government Decision, the measures and the period for which temporary protection is granted are determined on the basis of an assessment of the given situation, taking into
account the causes of possible influxes of persons.
Asylum-seekers have the right to legal advice during the examination of their asylum applications at both administrative and judicial stages. Legal advice is provided free of charge by the partners of the General Inspectorate for Migration - the Law Center of Advocates and the National Council for State Guaranteed Legal Aid.
Applicants can choose their legal representative free of charge or for a fee, under the conditions provided for by the legislation in force, according to the person's income declaration.
