Considering the upcoming religious holidays in the Republic of Moldova – Easter on the 21st of April and Memorial Day (Paștele Blajinilor) on the 28th of April, which are vacation days, we kindly urge you to plan your stay in Moldova to avoid any potential situations of illegal stay in the country.
To prevent exceeding the legal period of stay, we recommend that you visit the territorial offices of the General Inspectorate for Migration in advance, before the holiday period.
Please be reminded that:
Foreign nationals applying for the granting or extension of temporary residence must submit their application at least 30 calendar days before the expiration of their current stay;
Citizens of the European Union must submit their application at least 15 calendar days before the expiration of the period for which their right of residence was granted.
For those staying in the Republic of Moldova based on a visa regime or are exempt from visa requirements, we remind you of the general rule: a stay of 90 days is permitted within 180 days. It is essential to closely monitor these terms to avoid violations of the stay regime.
Foreign nationals who were granted entry into the country with a short-stay visa allowing for a stay of less than 90 days may apply for an extension at least 3 working days before the expiration of the period indicated in the visa.
