For her part, the project leader from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ina Bogatîi, stated: “The Ministry is working consistently to advance the implementation of the Republic of Moldova’s European agenda, so that we may become part of the European family as soon as possible. We have been eagerly awaiting the launch of this Twinning project, and the fact that it has now started confirms that we are on the right path. We aim for effective and fruitful cooperation with our partners throughout the entire project.”
The Twinning project “Migration EU-MD” is implemented by a consortium of three EU Member States – Sweden, Greece, and Romania – under the coordination of Sweden as project leader. Its objective is to strengthen the institutional capacities of the General Inspectorate for Migration in aligning with the commitments undertaken by the Republic of Moldova in the context of European integration, particularly in the area of Justice, Freedom, and Security (Chapter 24). The project has a duration of 18 months, starting on April 1, 2025, and a total budget of €1.25 million.
