The General Inspectorate for Migration (IGM) answers the top 5 frequently asked questions received from foreigners via the IGM Green Line recently. We will continue to provide regular updates and clarify the topics that are of interest to IGM beneficiaries.
1. What are the reasons for refusal to issue an invitation?
According to Article 28, paragraph (7) of Law No. 200/2010 on the Regime of Foreigners in the Republic of Moldova, the authority competent for foreigners shall issue a decision of refusal to issue the invitation if:
a) the foreigners do not meet the entry conditions into the Republic of Moldova as provided in Article 6, paragraph (1), letters a), c), e), f), and g) of Law No. 200/2010 on the Regime of Foreigners;
b) there is any reason for not allowing entry into the Republic of Moldova as set out in Article 8, paragraph (1), letters b)–l) of the same law.
2. I need a certificate confirming the composition of my family. Where do I go, and what option do I choose in the "Earlyone" app?
To obtain the certificate confirming the composition of the family, the applicant must submit a request using the approved template, accompanied by the original and a copy of the required documents, at the Foreigners Documentation Counters of the General Inspectorate for Migration.

3. What documents do I need to obtain the Confirmation of State Identification Number (IDNP) assignment?
A foreigner requesting confirmation of the assignment of a State Identification Number (IDNP) must submit an application using the approved template (which can be downloaded from https://igm.gov.md/confirmarea-statutului-strainului-pe-teritoriul-rm/), along with the original and a copy of their travel document.
4. If I have exceeded the 90-day stay and want to leave Moldova, can I return in a week?
A foreigner may stay in the Republic of Moldova for a maximum of 90 days within any 180-day period.
If all 90 days (consecutively or cumulatively) have been used, the person cannot re-enter the country until those days are no longer counted within the 180-day window.
In practice, if a foreigner stayed 90 days without interruption, they can return only after another 90 days of absence.
5. How can I reacquire the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova?
The general steps and conditions for reacquiring the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova are set forth in the Law on Citizenship of the Republic of Moldova No. 1024/2000. For assistance, you must contact the Public Services Agency.
