Starting from September 20, 2025, a new category of foreigners – digital nomads – can benefit from the right of residence in the Republic of Moldova.

A digital nomad is a professional who works remotely in fields such as IT, marketing, design, consulting, or online education, needing only an internet connection.

They carry out their professional activity based on an individual employment contract or a service contract with a legal entity, or with a partner of a company registered outside the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

The list of required documents and the corresponding application form can be found on the official website of the General Inspectorate for Migration, under Immigration → Temporary Residence → Work – Digital Nomad.

These changes are part of efforts to support business digitalization and connect Moldova’s economy to international markets.
