The General Inspectorate for Migration (IGM) has developed the Gender Equality Guide for foreigners residing in the territory of the Republic of Moldova. This guide provides practical information and recommendations to understand and promote gender equality, protect against discrimination, harassment, and violence, and actively integrate into the community.
The guide explains concepts related to gender equality and equity, fundamental rights of every person, and the legal and institutional mechanisms available in the Republic of Moldova. It also contains information on gender stereotypes, forms of discrimination, harassment, and violence, as well as institutions and non-governmental organizations that offer free and confidential support.
The development of the guide involved collaboration among several structures and experts in the field to provide accessible and useful material for foreigners.
GIM invites all interested persons to consult the guide and use the information and resources provided to know their rights, protect themselves, and benefit from equal opportunities in the Republic of Moldova.
The guide is also available in the following languages:
Română: https://igm.gov.md/egalitate-de-gen/
