The General Inspectorate for Migration (GIM) informs that it has identified the existence of a fraudulent website – https://protectietemporara.md/ – which claims to provide, for a fee, services for extending temporary protection for displaced persons from Ukraine.

Please note that this website is not administered by the General Inspectorate for Migration nor by any public authority of the Republic of Moldova. The content and services promoted on this platform constitute a scam.

The General Inspectorate for Migration emphasizes that the procedure for extending temporary protection is completely free of charge, and applications must be submitted exclusively through the official platform igm.gov.md, under the section “Temporary Protection”, subsection “Extend Temporary Protection”, in accordance with the instructions published by the competent authority.

GIM has initiated proceedings ex officio and has informed the competent authorities in order to verify and block this website, as well as to prevent other similar attempts of fraud.
