The General Inspectorate for Migration draws the attention of foreign nationals to the serious risks that may arise if they do not read and understand the clauses of the individual employment contract signed in the Republic of Moldova.
Failure to comply with the obligations stipulated in the contract may result in its unilateral termination and, consequently, the revocation of the temporary right of residence for work purposes, in accordance with national legislation.
Some foreign nationals take advantage of their status as migrant workers and attempt to cross the state border of the Republic of Moldova illegally, in order to enter the European Union. The Inspectorate warns that illegal border crossing is dangerous and strictly sanctioned, including through administrative and criminal measures. Those involved risk detention and deportation.
To avoid such situations, the General Inspectorate for Migration recommends the following:
• Read and fully understand all clauses of the employment contract before signing;
• Fulfill the obligations undertaken in the employment contract;
• Respect the rights and obligations set out in Law No. 200 of 16.07.2010 on the Regime of Foreigners in the Republic of Moldova;
• Seek support and information from safe and official sources before making any decisions about obtaining the right to work and immigrate to the Republic of Moldova.
Complying with the legal framework on labor migration is the only way to work legally and to access the rights and social protection measures available to foreign nationals in the Republic of Moldova.
Warning: Do not attempt to cross the border of the Republic of Moldova illegally — such actions may endanger your life and freedom.
