- I left with Temporary Protection Status last year, now I'm back. Do I have to get the status again?
If you have returned to the country, your temporary protection status can be verified by scanning the QR code on your identity document. If the document is invalid, you have to undergo the pre-registration procedure to obtain temporary protection again.
- Who can apply for asylum?
Any foreign national or stateless person can apply for asylum in the Republic of Moldova.
- What documents prove ownership or usage rights over a residential property in the Republic of Moldova?
In order to prove the right of ownership or use over a residential property, the foreigner must present either an extract from the Register of Immovable Property or a lease contract registered in accordance with the law. If the lease contract is presented, it must be accompanied by a confirmation of registration, stamped with the stamp of the State Tax Service.
- I am from Romania and I want to obtain the right of residence. Does my criminal record have to be notarized?
The criminal record issued by the Romanian authorities does not require notarization to obtain the right of residence in the Republic of Moldova.
- My residence permit expired. What fine do I have to pay?
If your residence permit expired, the fine you have to pay is between 600 lei and 1500 lei because the sanction is from 12 to 30 conventional units, and one unit is 50 lei. This is provided for by Article 333, paragraph 1 of the Contravention Code.
