The GIM’s Mobile Team went on field yesterday to document a Ukrainian man, beneficiary of temporary protection, hospitalized at the District Hospital of Cahul for a more complex surgery. The GIM’s officers registered the Ukrainian citizen and issued his ID card the same day. The document entitles the man to primary and emergency medical care.
As a reminder, Ukrainians or other vulnerable groups with severe mobility limitations can request for The GIM’s Mobile Team to go out on site by an online application at https://protectietemporara.gov.md/.
Registration and documentation services through the Mobile Team are provided to the following categories of beneficiaries of temporary protection:
- bedridden persons
- persons with reduced mobility due to physical or mental disability or serious health condition
- persons undergoing treatment under restraint in specialized medical institutions
Temporary protection status allows refugees from Ukraine to stay legally in Moldova until March 1, 2025. In addition to health services, beneficiaries of temporary protection have access to general education for their children, the right to work and a range of social assistance measures.
As of 01.03.2023, the GIM’s mobile teams have documented with identity documents over 300 beneficiaries of temporary protection.
