Migration issues discussed in Prague Process dialogue

The leadership of the General Inspectorate for Migration (GIM) attended the Prague Process kick-off workshop on preventing and fighting irregular migration and migrant smuggling held on 13-14 February 2024.

The Deputy-Head of the GIM, Vadim Popovici, shared in Budapest the experiences of the Republic of Moldova in managing migration processes. Thus, the strategies implemented at the national level in combating illegal migration were presented. Particular attention has been paid to special methods for identifying undocumented migrants and the itineraries used by them in the context of the regional situation. Moldova's delegation also referred to 2023 migration trends.

It must be remembered that the Prague Process is a targeted migration dialogue and a policy process promoting migration partnerships among the countries of the European Union, Schengen Area, Eastern Partnership, Western Balkans, Central Asia, Russia and Turkey.
