Procedure for renouncing temporary protection at the Diplomatic Missions of the Republic of Moldova

The General Inspectorate for Migration (GIM) informs that, starting from August of the current year, beneficiaries of the temporary protection status may officially renounce this status both at its territorial subdivisions and abroad, through the diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Moldova.

To renounce temporary protection, applicants must submit a written request, either in person or through a legal representative, accompanied by the identity document issued by the GIM. In case of loss of the document, a sworn statement must be completed, and another valid identity document presented. The temporary protection document will be invalidated by perforating its corners and returned to the holder.

Upon completion of the procedure, the applicant will receive a certificate confirming the renunciation of the temporary protection beneficiary status.

The personal data collected during the renunciation process are processed in accordance with the national legislation on personal data protection.

For additional information, please contact the nearest diplomatic mission or visit the official website of the General Inspectorate for Migration.
