Strengthening the dialog between the General Inspectorate for Migration and EU Member States

On 12 February, the management of the General Inspectorate for Migration (IGM) had an official meeting with the EU4Law Enforcement - Moldova project team, funded by the European Union and implemented under the coordination of France (as lead) and Lithuania, led by Ms. Sophie Dagand, representative of the European Union.

The project aims to support the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova with an implementation period of 36 months (2025-2028).

The main objectives of the project include:

Alignment with EU acquis and implementation of international best practices;
Combating transnational crime, in particular within the EMPACT program;
Improving cross-border cooperation.
In this context, the expertise of the European Union and the exchange of best practices is an essential element for the IGM, contributing to the implementation of the "Rule of Law" roadmap and supporting national efforts to align with the EU acquis.

The Inspectorate General for Migration emphasizes the need for continued consultation and assistance in order to effectively manage the migration and asylum system, as well as in the process of transposing the new European Pact on Migration and Asylum. These initiatives are essential for strengthening institutional capacities and ensuring a more efficient migration system that is more in line with international standards.
