Between 20\u201322 June, on the occasion of World Refugee Day, the General Inspectorate for Migration, in partnership with the Council of Europe and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), organized a series of events dedicated to people displaced from Ukraine and the host communities in B\u0103l\u021bi, Chi\u0219in\u0103u, and Cahul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program included a variety of activities for all age groups and categories of participants: an NGO and public institution fair offering medical, legal, and psychosocial support services; tote bag painting and pottery workshops; Ukrainian storytelling sessions for children, featuring a refugee author; canine demonstrations by the Border Police\u2019s dog handling teams; and poetry and music performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 21 June, the events in Chi\u0219in\u0103u were hosted at the Accommodation Centre for Asylum Seekers under the General Inspectorate for Migration, with the presence of Ms. Diana Salcu\u021ban, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday\u2019s event is a tangible example of our collaborative approach. Its success is the result of a solid strategic partnership, and we thank all our partners \u2013 including local and international NGOs \u2013 for their continuous support.
The place we are in today is more than just a physical structure providing accommodation; it is a space where life stories intersect, wounds begin to heal, and hope is reignited.
The presence of children from nearby schools and kindergartens underlines our progress in building harmonious community-level integration. Through such events, featuring artistic moments from the refugee community, we promote inclusion, intercultural dialogue, and social cohesion.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs ensures a robust legal and operational framework dedicated to the protection and integration of those seeking refuge. We remain committed to developing policies and services that meet the specific needs of these individuals while guaranteeing the respect of their rights and dignity.
Today, we not only acknowledge the challenges, but also celebrate the extraordinary resilience and meaningful contributions that refugees bring to our society. We reiterate our call for joint action, based on empathy and mutual respect,\u201d said Ms. Salcu\u021ban at the opening of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The events in B\u0103l\u021bi and Cahul brought together hundreds of beneficiaries of temporary protection and local residents who showed hospitality and solidarity with those displaced by the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General Inspectorate for Migration expresses gratitude to its partners for co-organizing these three days of activities and reaffirms its strong commitment to protecting the rights of refugees who have found shelter in the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
