The General Inspectorate for Migration informs that foreign citizens residing or staying in the Republic of Moldova may request the assignment and confirmation of their state identification number (IDNP)—a unique personal code required for various administrative and legal procedures.
Applications can be submitted either in person or by an authorized representative based on a notarized power of attorney. Requests may be filed at the Foreigners' Documentation Counter within the Regional Directorates of the General Inspectorate for Migration or submitted via email, migratie.sd@igm.gov.md.
The following documents must be provided:
- A completed application form (standard format);
- The foreign citizen’s national passport (personal data and photo page);
- A notarized power of attorney and a copy of the identity document, if submitted by a representative.
The applicable fee shall be paid only after confirmation of the request via email from the responsible officer of the Inspectorate.
The confirmation certificate is issued:
- Directly to the applicant;
- To a legal or authorized representative, upon presentation of supporting documents;
- Or, upon request, by registered mail with delivery confirmation.
At the time of receipt, the recipient must present a valid identity document. In cases of representation, proof of representation is also required.
