More than 500 foreigners informed about the signs of an abuse in 3 municipalities during 5 days and 400 information materials distributed during 5 information sessions. These are some of the impact indicators of the activities implemented by GIMs officers during Denim Day Campaign 2024 from 24 to 30 April. Beneficiaries learned about how they can report abuse to state institutions and non-governmental organizations that can provide qualified support in situations of sexual abuse and not only.
Besides foreigners from Balti municipality, 11 representatives of the Social Assistance and Family Protection Department were familiarized with the main actions to be taken in relation to victims of sexual violence, with emphasis on ensuring the rights of foreigners experiencing a high risk of gender-based violence. Another information session was held at the GIM's Temporary Placement Centre for Foreigners, conducted in collaboration with our partners from the Law Center of Advocates.
The "Be brave, ask for help!" campaign has been consistently supported by our colleagues from the documentation desks and from the GIM Integration Centres. The main goal was to educate foreigners with the aim of reducing tolerance towards all forms of violence, as well as to guide and support them in reporting cases of sexual violence to law enforcement bodies.
