As a result of special investigative measures, the officers of the Residence Supervision Department of the GIM detained in Chisinau municipality a Turkish citizen who was wanted internationally for drug trafficking.

IGM officers established that in 2017, in complicity with other persons, the foreigner smuggled 50kg of cocaine transported from Colombia into Turkey. 

The foreigner was detained under art. 166, Code of Criminal Procedure, and placed in the temporary detention isolator of the Chisinau Police Department for further extradition procedure.
