Important announcement for displaced persons receiving UNHCR cash assistance in the Republic of Moldova

The General Inspectorate for Migration (GIM) would like to inform you of a policy change regarding the UNHCR cash assistance Programme for refugees from Ukraine residing in the Republic of Moldova.

The eligibility criteria for beneficiaries for financial assistance have been adapted, i.e. the conduct of assessment interviews for all beneficiaries receiving financial assistance. As a result, some foreigners who were receiving financial assistance will no longer continue to receive it.

Good to know about assessment and verification interviews:

You will receive an SMS inviting you to attend the assessment interview at the nearest registration centre from the week of 29/04/2024 (interviews in Chisinau) and 07/05/2024 (interviews in Chisinau and other locations).

It is important that you show up for your scheduled interview. During the interview, it will be assessed whether you are still eligible for assistance. If you do not attend the interview, UNHCR will not be able to confirm your permanent presence on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and you may therefore not be eligible for further support.
