Immigration is the entry of foreign nationals or stateless persons into a given country in order to settle permanently or temporarily on its territory.

The entry on the territory of the Republic of Moldova is allowed to foreigners who fulfill the following conditions:
a. possess a valid document recognized or accepted by the Republic of Moldova, unless otherwise stipulated in international treaties to which the Republic of Moldova is a party
b. possess a valid visa issued in accordance with the law or, where required, a valid residence permit, unless otherwise stipulated in international treaties to which the Republic of Moldova is a party
c. hold documents justifying the purpose of entry and providing evidence of adequate means of subsistence for the period of stay and of return to their country of origin or transit to another state into which they are certain to be permitted entry
d. provide guarantees that they will be allowed to enter the territory of the state of destination or, in the case of aliens in transit, to leave the territory of the Republic of Moldova
e. they are not included in the category of aliens subject to a ban on entry into the Republic of Moldova or who have been declared as inadmissible
f. do not pose a threat to national security, public order and public health.
Citizens of the member states of the European Union, holders of all types of passports, who
plan to stay for up to 90 days within 6 months from the date of first entry, do not need entry visas for the Republic of Moldova.
Moldovan legislation gives foreigners the same rights and freedoms as Moldovan citizens, with certain exceptions, without harming the interests of the state, the legitimate rights and interests of Moldovan citizens and other persons. a. the foreigner holds the right of temporary stay for family reunification for at least 3 years
