List of documents required to grant provisional residence for the purposes of studies:

1. The request of the educational institution and the Standard Application Form
2. Applicant's national passport (original and copy) with appropriate references made by the state border control authority (confirming the date and place of crossing the state border) and the copy of long-stay visa (for foreigners entering on a visa)
3. Copy of the agreement of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (exception for aliens from countries signatories of the Lisbon Convention)
4. Copy of the document proving the alien’s enrolment to studies
5. Copy of study contract
6. Original and a copy of the document proving the right of ownership or use of dwelling (extract from the Register of Immovable Property or rental contract, registered in accordance with the legislation; the assignment order/accommodation voucher from the student hostel)
7. Criminal record (in original) from the applicant's country of origin, legalized/apostilled by the authorities of the state of nationality. If the alien has been legally residing for at least two years in a country other than the state of his/her nationality, he/she shall present the criminal record or another document with the same legal value issued by the authorities of the country of residence, translated and legalized/apostilled, as well as the document confirming the right of residence, except for minors under 16 years of age.
8. Original and copy of the health insurance valid for at least 3 months
9. Proof of means of subsistence in the amount corresponding to the category of residence applied for with the exception of foreigners on scholarships from the Republic of Moldova (in the latter case, a proof of holding a scholarship in the Republic of Moldova shall be presented).
10. A (one) 3x4 cm color photo
11. Other documents as appropriate (activity license, registration certificate, extract from the State Register of Enterprises and Organizations, for institutions submitting the application for the first time).

List of documents required for extension of provisional residence for the purpose of studies:

1. The request of the educational institution and the Standard Application Form
2. Alien's national passport (original and copy)
3. Alien's residence permit (original and copy)
4. Copy of the agreement of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (exception for aliens from countries signatories of the Lisbon Convention)
5. Copy of the document proving the alien’s enrolment to studies
6. Copy of study contract
7. Original and a copy of the document proving the right of ownership or use of dwelling (extract from the Register of Immovable Property or rental contract, registered in accordance with the legislation; the assignment order/accommodation voucher from the student hostel)
8. Copy of health insurance obtained from the National Health Insurance Company
9. Proof of means of subsistence in the amount corresponding to the category of residence applied for with the exception of foreigners on scholarships from the Republic of Moldova (in the latter case, a proof of holding a scholarship in the Republic of Moldova shall be presented).
10. A (one) 3x4 cm color photo.
11. Other documents as appropriate (activity license, registration certificate, extract from the State Register of Enterprises and Organizations, for institutions submitting the application for the first time).

NOTES:

1. The documents must be submitted at least 30 days before the authorized end of foreigner’s stay in the Republic ofMoldova.
2. The EU citizens must submit their documents at least 15 days before the authorized end of their stay in the Republic of Moldova.
3. Failing to meet the deadline for application is subject to administrative penalties.
