The confirmation regarding the foreigner’s status on the territory of the Republic of Moldova is issued by the competent authority for foreigners in order to facilitate foreign nationals’ access to public services: enrolling children in kindergarten or school, opening a bank account, registering a company, etc.

It confirms:

• The assignment of the state identification number of a natural person (IDNP) from State Population Register
• The issuance of the ID card or lack thereof
• The registration of domicile/residence or lack thereof
• The family composition

Process description

1. Step 1

   Application form

   The application for the issuance of the confirmation regarding the foreigner’s status on the territory of the Republic of Moldova shall be submitted in person or by the authorized representative by notarized power of attorney.

   The application shall be submitted to the one-stop-shops for the Documentation of Foreigners of the General Inspectorate for Migration (GIM) as follows:

   • CENTRAL Regional Directorate of the GIM – migratie.sd@igm.gov.md (Chisinau Municipality and 12 districts: Anenii Noi, Călărași, Criuleni, Dubăsari, Hîncești, Ialoveni, Nisporeni, Orhei, Strășeni, Căușeni, Ștefan Vodă și Unghen)

   • NORTH Regional Directorate of the GIM – nord@igm.gov.md (Balti Municipality and 14 districts: Briceni, Edineţ, Donduşeni, Drochia, Făleşti, Floreşti, Glodeni, Ocniţa, Rîşcani, Sîngerei, Soroca, Șoldănești, Telenești, Rezina)

   • SOUTH Regional Directorate of the GIM – sud@igm.gov.md (Comrat Municipality and 8 districts: Ceadîr-Lunga, Taraclia, Vulcănești, Cantemir, Basarabeasca, Cimișlia, Leova).

3. Pasul 3

   Issuance of the confirmation

   The confirmation shall be handed to the applicant upon signature or to his/her legal representative, or to an representative authorized by a notarized power of attorney to perform such function. At the request of the applicant, the confirmation shall be handed by registered post.

   When handing over the confirmation, the applicant shall identify him/herself by his/her

   identity card, and in the case of hand-deliver to the legal representative or to the representative authorized by power of attorney, the documents proving the right of representation shall be submitted in addition.

The indicated email addresses are intended exclusively for receiving requests for the issuance of the Certificate confirming the foreigner’s status on the territory of the Republic of Moldova; any other requests or information sent to these addresses will not be examined.
