Strengthening the capacities of the BMA staff and best practices sharing

In the 2nd quarter of 2021, the representatives of the Bureau of Migration and Asylum attended the Regional Training “Key concepts and trends in the sphere of migration” in the framework of the Regional Training Center on Migration (25 to 27 May 2021).

The setting of the Center is part of the Project “Supporting the establishment of a Regional Training Centre on Migration in Azerbaijan” with the aim of expanding and supporting training activities in the field of migration at the regional level. The project was initiated by the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Representation of the International Organization for Migration in the Republic of Azerbaijan with the financial assistance of the IOM Development Fund.

The Bureau was invited to present best practices in the field of migration management and integration of foreigners in the Republic of Moldova, the impact of visa liberalization and Association Agreement, and next planning.

Additionally, one representative from the Bureau of Migration and Asylum within the period 06th of April – 25th of June 2021 attended the Migration Management Diploma Program (MMDP), being granted a scholarship through the financial assistance of the European Union, contracted by ICMPD through the Mobility Partnership Facility. MMDP is a capacity-building program offered by UNU-MERIT Maastricht University and represents a great opportunity for getting new knowledge, understand current trends, see academic approaches, compare national contexts with other participating countries.

The MMDP included 3 courses dedicated to:
• Migration Management and Protection
• Migration Policy
• Migration and Development
