The General Inspectorate for Migration Informs: How to Obtain a Residence Permit in the Republic of Moldova

In order to obtain a work permit, make sure your employer offer you a work contract which prove that he will pay you the average wage of 13.700 MDL. Follow this link to find more on your right of provisional stay for the purpose of work.

Foreign citizens interested in making investments in the Republic of Moldova may grant the right to temporary stay:

  • for a period of 2 years - making an investment of at least 30 average wages or creating at least one job.
  • for a period of 3 years - making an investment of at least 200 average wages or creating at least 8 jobs.
  • for a period of 4 years - making an investment of at least 600 average wages or creating at least 15 jobs.
  • for a period of 5 years - making an investment of at least 2000 average wages or creating at least 25 jobs.

To obtain a right of residence for study purpose, you will need a study contract concluded with one of the educational institutions in our country. Please see the complete list of documents granting the right of temporary residence for study purpose.

You may also apply for a family reunification:

  • with a citizen of the Republic of Moldova
  • with a foreigner who has the right of stay in the Republic of Moldova
  • with a partner, a citizen of the Republic of Moldova with whom you have a common child.

The residence permit may be issued as well for humanitarian, volunteering and religious activities

You can make a request for it if:

  • you represent a religious cult recognized in the Republic of Moldova;
  • you represent a non-commercial organization;
  • you represent a humanitarian organization;

Foreign citizens can obtain the legal residence in the Republic of Moldova for other purposes, presenting the appropriate evidence.
